Stainless steel is the most commonly used material for medical device applications due to its versatility, corrosion-resistance, and cost-effectiveness. Component Supply’s stock of 304V stainless steel medical mandrel & wire is spring tempered, drawn, and straightened with a bright finish, and is an ideal material for non-implantable medical devices. 304V yields a more uniform chemistry with minimum voids and contaminants. It is strong and flexible, and it can be easily welded or soldered. Our 304 SS medical mandrels are supplied in lengths of 72″ and 36″ and are available in 0.001″ increments for diameters ranging from 0.005″ to 0.040″. Please note: 304 is designated with a V (Vacuum Arc Remelted) for diameter sizes of 0.040″ and down, but sizes larger than that may not be designated with a V.
