PTFE fractional tubing is designed for applications that require non-standard sizing and flexible dimensional selection in demanding environments. It is commonly used in prototyping, laboratory setups, and custom assemblies where AWG sizing is too restrictive.
Made from high-performance PTFE, this tubing offers excellent dielectric strength, a very low coefficient of friction, and strong resistance to acids, bases, and common solvents. Its chemically inert structure, low extractables, and biocompatibility make it suitable for sensitive research and controlled environments.
With a broad operating temperature range from -454°F to 500°F (-270°C to 260°C), it performs reliably under extreme conditions while maintaining flexibility and dimensional stability. It is compatible with EtO sterilization and autoclaving and is frequently selected for medical device R&D, fluid transfer setups, and aerospace applications.
For custom fabrication or specialized lengths, PTFE extruded tubing can be supplied as a fabricated component. Simply complete our Quote Form for custom options.
There are numerous industries with applications for Zeus PTFE tubing including the aerospace, automotive, chemical, electrical, fiber optics, pharmaceutical and medical industries. Concerning chemical applications, this tubing withstands corrosive fluids, such as sulfuric acid, hydrocarbon fuels and strong mineral acids. Additionally, PTFE’s inherently pure nature (fluorine and carbon), makes it an excellent material selection for pharmaceutical applications requiring a high degree of purity. PTFE also is an appropriate option for high pressure applications. However, there are many factors contributing to the actual pressures specific to each application, so Component Supply does not list a burst pressure rating for fluoropolymer products. Instead, this theoretical formula may be used as a reference for engineers and researchers to yield the maximum burst pressure. While Component Supply provides some information for potential PTFE applications, such as the chemical and pharmaceutical examples described above, generally there are too many possibilities for a comprehensive description. Therefore, as you consider prospective applications in your industry, please consider contacting one of our representatives who are eager to assist researchers and product designers in choosing the best products for their specific applications.
Component Supply stocks PTFE tubing in the fractional sizes and wall thicknesses as indicated on the chart below in 50-foot and 100-foot spools or coils depending on gauge size and wall. While we stock production run quantities of this tubing for manufacturers, we also prove our commitment to the work of our researchers and product designers by offering PTFE in small quantities. We strive to bring application-specific functionality to the laboratory by customizing our products without committing all customers to large quantities. Our proprietary processes and equipment enable this material to be cut to customer’s specifications while maintaining the integrity of the tubing dimensions, holding tight tolerances and keeping the cuts straight.
ISO 13485 certified. RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 compliance statements are available upon request at the time of order.
