304 Ultra Thin Wall Stainless Steel Hypodermic Tubing for Medical Devices
Component Supply’s 304 stainless steel ultra-thin wall hypodermic tubing for medical devices is welded and drawn to tight tolerances. Component Supply stocks these 304 SS hypotubes in standard 30″ and 60″ without a minimum order requirement. Volume pricing is available for 60″ lengths at quantities of 10, 25, 50, and 100. The gauge sizes are based on the Birmingham Gauge, also known as Stubs Iron Wire Gauge, which references the outside diameter. As wall thickness changes for a particular gauge size, the inside diameter changes while the outside diameter remains constant. Stainless steel is a family of iron-chromium alloys with effective corrosion resistance particularly known for their “non-rusting” attributes. 304 SS possesses a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel with a maximum of 0.08% carbon. It is in the chromium-nickel austenitic alloy family, and with its low carbon, it is preferable over 302 stainless steel for applications requiring welding.
