Component Supply stocks radiation-stable polycarbonate fittings in packs of 10, 25, 50, and 100. Radiation-stable polycarbonate fittings are specialized plastic components designed to withstand exposure to ionizing radiation (such as gamma rays, X-rays, or electron beams) without degrading in performance or integrity. These fittings have the same properties as our standard polycarbonate fittings, but their formulation contains stabilizing additives that enhance their resistance to gamma radiation. The rad stable winged slips are additionally lipid-resistant and, therefore, less affected by oils and fats.
These fittings are commonly used in industries where sterilization or operation in radioactive environments is necessary. In medical and pharmaceutical applications, they are frequently seen in sterile fluid transfer systems (e.g., tubing, connectors, valves), devices that undergo gamma or e-beam sterilization, bioprocessing equipment used in vaccine or drug production, and single-use assemblies for cleanrooms and sterile processing. They’re also critical in other fields like biotech, nuclear, aerospace, and other applications where they are exposed to sterilization or radiation environments.
If you do not see a configuration that fits your application, please email us, and we will work with you to source the correct part.
