PTFE Heat Shrink Tubing 2:1 Thin Wall for Precision and Conformability
Component Supply offers PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) heat shrink tubing with a 2:1 shrink ratio and thin wall construction, designed for applications where tight, flexible coverage and minimal added bulk are critical. This tubing is ideal for wires, cables, and delicate components in medical devices, laboratory instruments, and high-performance electronics that require precise fits and smooth surfaces.
The thin wall construction allows the tubing to conform closely to irregular shapes and narrow gaps while maintaining excellent chemical resistance, dielectric strength, and lubricity. PTFE provides the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material, making it perfect for applications where smooth movement or low surface interaction is required.
Supplied in an expanded state and standard 4-foot lengths, PTFE thin wall heat shrink can withstand extreme heat, corrosion, moisture, and shock, and is compatible with chemical sterilization and autoclaving.
Recovery Temperature:
654°F to 670°F (346°C to 354°C)
PTFE heat shrink thin wall tubing serves critical functions in several industries including the aerospace, automotive, electrical, fluid transfer, fiber optics and medical fields. Concerning the aerospace industry, polymers are increasingly used in aircraft design due not only to their exceptional characteristics for volatile environments, but also because the material is cost-efficient and lightweight. Heat shrink products are used in wire harness applications and also provide seamless coverings to composite forming mandrels. They are also used for fiber optic, hydraulic, wire coating and sealing solutions. These aerospace applications are just a few of many possible applications for heat shrink tubing. Contact us if you are concerned about the suitability of this product in your application.
Component Supply offers PTFE heat shrink thin wall tubing with a 2 to 1 shrink ratio in 4-foot lengths. This product can be ordered in spools and in custom Pantone colors for production run quantities. However, our proprietary processes and equipment give us the expertise to produce customer-specific lengths, which precisely fit the items needing coverage and make them as effective as possible in their application. Our cuts are straight, maintain the integrity of the tubing dimensions and hold tight tolerances. Minimum quantities may apply depending on current stock. For more custom fabrication information, please contact a Component Supply representative who can inform you of the best options for your specific application.
ISO 13485 certified. RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 compliance statements are available upon request at the time of order.
